What is Splash City?

2013 marks Splash City Family Waterpark's 16th season and from tiny tots to teens to adults, the park continues to offer something for everyone when it comes to summer fun.

A brand new attraction is coming soon to Splash City this season. AquaClimb is a 12-foot-tall climbing wall situated above the deep end of The Oasis lap pool. Those craving a bit of adventure can climb the wall and wall into the deep water.

The FlowRider® is undoubtedly the most popular attraction. The machine pumps 36,000 gallons of water a minute creating a never-ending wave perfect for body boarding or surfing. The FlowRider® can be a little daunting for beginners, which is why Splash City offers surf lessons daily for those 48 inches and taller.

As well as being a place to exercise, the four lane lap pool is used for swim lessons for children that are 3 to 11 years old. The park also has parent and toddler swim lessons for children who are 18 to 36 months old. The swim team, the Splash City Gators, also practices in the lap pool.

Monsoon Mountain is a 50 foot tall water fortress of fun. It includes five slides of various shapes and sizes, and different hoses and buckets that kids can use to squirt each other with water. The bucket on top holds 500 gallons of water and douses the kids or unsuspecting parents below with its contents every five minutes or so.

For kids who might be a little too young to climb on Monsoon Mountain there’s Guppy Gully. It’s a place where toddlers can play away from the commotion in the rest of the park. There’s also a man-made sand area filled with buckets and shovels so visitors can spend a little time at the beach while they’re here.

For those looking for a challenge, there’s the Lily Pads. The inflated lily pads float in the pool and, using the overhead rope, the adventurous see if they can make it across. It’s actually a lot harder than it looks.

For those who are still kids at heart there’s two, one open and one closed water slide that travel 150 to a “splash down,” and the Crystal Creek lazy river where you can just grab a tube and let the water leisurely pull you.

Splash City has plenty of lockers, deck chairs, loungers, and big umbrellas that provide both shade or sunbathing opportunities. There is also a full service concession area.

The water park offers birthday party packages and corporate or civic groups can rent the entire park for a private event in the morning before the park opens or in the evening after the park closes.

Splash City employs nearly 140 lifeguards, cashiers, guest services individuals and maintenance workers annually. The water park averages about 51,000 admissions from around the region each year.

Splash City Family Waterpark is located at 10 Gateway Drive, located in Eastport Plaza, just off of Illinois Route 157 in beautiful Collinsville, Illinois. For more information, call 618-346-4571.
